Remove the guessing
Most listing decisions are made on opinion.
But once the change is live, the numbers say something else. Using the Intellivy consumer research platform, your product meets real shoppers in a simulated buying situation, and what comes back is read through the customer journey. You get more than a score. You get a diagnosis
The platform and the reading of it
Intellivy provides the instrument. The value depends on how it is used
The instrument
Access to the right consumers at the moment of choice
Intellivy reaches millions of shoppers across the big marketplaces. You choose who sees your product. The polls show it the way a buyer would meet it: in search results, as a thumbnail at scroll speed, in the full gallery, and next to the competitors it is really up against.
The work around it
A poll is only as valuable as the question behind it
The tool gives you numbers. What makes them worth something is the work around them. Asking a question worth paying for. Setting up a situation that feels real. Taking out anything that steers the answer. And reading it back in the order the buyer walked it.
The method
Research designed around the customer journey
Each step has a purpose. Skip one and you get an answer to a question nobody asked.
01
Start with hypotheses
No poll gets built until there is a question worth paying for.
02
Design the buying situation
A realistic reason to shop, so the answer reflects a real decision.
03
Remove bias before it runs
Urgency, hints and suggestion are stripped out before anyone sees the question.
04
Choose the right poll
A click problem and a conversion problem need completely different questions.
05
Read it through the journey
In the order the shopper experienced it, including why they walked away.
06
From insight to execution
Every finding mapped to a specific image, line, module or price point.
Where it fits
Use research before the expensive decision
Before a launch
Build around the right story
Find the objections while changing the product or listing is still inexpensive.
When performance stalls
Find the real bottleneck
The numbers tell you it is not working. They never tell you at which moment the shopper decided against you.
Before entering a market
Test local expectations
Discover how the product reads in another country before inventory, creative and budget are committed.
Before a creative refresh
Know what deserves to change
See which images are doing the work, which are doing nothing, and what the new creative must answer.
Questions people ask before they start
What is consumer research for a product listing?
Putting your product in front of real shoppers in a realistic buying situation, before you spend on traffic, and capturing what they choose and why they walk away. It answers why a listing performs the way it does, which sales data alone never explains.
How is this different from Amazon’s Manage Your Experiments?
Manage Your Experiments compares two versions using your own live traffic, so it needs volume and weeks of time, and it tells you which version won without telling you why. Consumer research gives you the reason, in days, before the traffic is spent.
Why not just read my reviews?
You should, and not just your own. Read the whole category. But reviews are post-sale. The buyer has already decided, so what you get back mostly confirms the choice, not whether it was the right one. And when a product is genuinely bad you hear it in plain words. When it is fine, people say very little.
Do I need to know which test I need?
No. Send me the product, the marketplace and what is bothering you about the numbers. Working out what the real question is, is part of the job.
Do I need you to set up Intellivy polls?
No. The platform is built for do it yourself, with ready-made packages that give you solid results for a fixed price. If time is the only thing missing, find someone to run them for you. It will be cheaper. You hire me when you want the layer around it: a question worth paying for, a setup that holds up, and someone reading the answers who knows what to look for.
Does this only work for Amazon?
No. The polls run across major marketplaces, and the logic applies to any product page where a buyer compares options. Amazon is where the method was sharpened.
What if the research says nothing is wrong with my listing?
That moment has not come yet. There is always something. The real question is whether fixing it moves enough to be worth the research. That is a judgement call, and I will make it with you.
What does it cost to work with you?
A little cheeky, but the first question is what it will bring in. Beyond that: I work on a project basis. Quick start, fact finding, and out again. Most work starts with a call and a clearly scoped first step, so you know what you are spending before you commit.
